
Marist Defeats Men's Tennis, 6-1

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Continuing a five-match road trip, the Boston University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Marist on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Terriers drop to 6-5, while the Red Foxes improve to 8-3.
Marist won two of the three doubles matches for the first point in a hard-fought battle and the claimed five of the six available singles points for the team victory.
In doubles, Marist won the No. 3 match, 8-3, but freshman Stefan Lemire and senior Michael Kopelman put the point in jeopardy by winning the No. 2 contest, 8-5. Fighting in the top spot, sophomore Chanon Varapongsittikul and senior Josh Friedman came up just short, 8-6.
Friedman rebounded from the loss to edge Dalen Klassen at the No. 2 slot in singles action, 6-7(6), 6-4, 10-8.
Marist won the other five matches in straight sets. Competing at No. 5, Joseph Dube earned the critical break points to defeat sophomore Emilio Teran, 7-5, 6-4.
The Terriers will next visit UConn on Friday (April 12) at 3 p.m.
