CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After recording an assist and helping lead the Boston University men's soccer team to a pair of road shutout victories, senior Kelvin Madzongwe has been named Corvias Patriot League Defender of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
A previous recipient of the award back on Sept. 2, Madzongwe played all 180 minutes, as the Terriers earned a 1-0 win at Holy Cross and 2-0 victory at Lehigh. In the second game against the Mountain Hawks, he assisted on senior Dominique Badji's insurance goal.
With Madzongwe anchoring the backline, the Terriers overcame a combined 37-24 deficit in shots and 9-5 deficit in corners to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games.
Currently ranked 24th in College Soccer News' latest national poll and the latest NCAA rankings, BU will next visit Ivy League leader and Top Drawer Soccer's No. 19 Dartmouth on Tuesday (Oct. 14) at 7 p.m.
