BOSTON - The BU women's soccer team (9-4-3, 3-1-2 PL) will face RV Colgate (11-1-2, 5-0-1 PL) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. on Nickerson Field. The game will be televised by the American Sports Network and can be watched on NESNplus in New England. For a complete channel listing, click HERE. The Patriot League Network will also be streaming the game live online.
The Terriers will be defending the nation's longest active unbeaten streak of home conference matches. BU has not lost a single league match at home since 2007, a 28-game span.
Colgate is currently in first place in the Patriot League, and is one of two schools that are still undefeated in conference play. Colgate has lost just one contest all year, dropping a 3-1 decision to then-19 Boston College.
Having already played Navy and Army, who sit in second and third place, respectively, a win against the Terriers would essentially secure the regular season title for the Raiders. BU is currently tied with Army for third place in the conference.
This will be the fourth meeting between the Raiders and the Terriers, last seeing each other in the Patriot League Semifinals, where BU advanced to the championship game on penalty kicks. During the 2013 regular season, BU took a 3-0 victory over Colgate.
Sarah Coy will cause the most trouble on offense, leading the Raiders with eight goals and 17 points. Catherine Williams and Emily Crichlow each have three goals on the season.
Brenna Mason has seen the majority of minutes in net and has a 10-1-2 record this season. She has a 0.53 goals against average and 0.904 save percentage, allowing just seven goals all year.
Prior to last Saturday, the Terriers were unbeaten in conference play until Loyola slipped away with a 1-0 victory. The Greyhounds were only allowed one shot on net all game but it was enough to net the game-winner and earn their first Patriot League win of the year.
