CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Seniors Taylor Krebs and Alyssa Parisi of the Boston University women's soccer team each earned a spot on the Patriot League All-Academic Team, the conference announce on Wednesday afternoon. Parisi and Krebs are among just 11 women's soccer student-athletes to be selected to the team.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve that has played in more than 50 percent of this season's matches.
Parisi, Boston U.'s starting goalkeeper and native of Camarillo, Calif., is currently pursuing a Master's degree in communications after having completed her bachelor of science in the same area of study. She graduated last spring with a 3.42 grade point average and is in her first semester of graduate school while competing with the Terriers.
So far this season, Parisi has played in 17 games and allowed just 11 goals, an average of 0.70. She has made 35 stops for a 0.761 save percentage and recorded three shutouts.
Krebs, a starting forward who hails from Dove Canyon, Calif., is studying biology with a concentration in cellular and molecular biology and genetics. A recipient of the BU's prestigious Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship, Krebs maintains a 3.76 GPA while standing out on the pitch and working in a research lab.
Krebs has scored four goals so far this year, the second-most on the team, which include two game winners. She has a total of 10 points on the season, the most she has tallied since her freshman campaign, which ended with an America East Rookie of the Year title.
Both Parisi and Krebs look to continue their standout senior seasons as they travel to Hamilton, N.Y. for the Patriot League Tournament, hosted by Colgate. The No. 2 seed Terriers will face No. 3 Navy in the semifinal game on Friday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.
