
Barker, Thomson Receive NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Honors

BOSTON - Previously named to the Patriot League All-Academic and CoSIDA Academic All-District teams, seniors Jordan Barker and Nick Thomson of the Boston University men's soccer team added to their awards haul with NSCAA Scholar All-East Region honors.
A graduate student majoring in energy and environmental analysis with a 3.67 GPA, Barker (Harrogate, England) was a key figure in the midfield this past season. Placed on the second team by the NSCAA, he finished second for BU with 13 points behind four goals and five assists. Highlights include game winners against UMass, Holy Cross and Lafayette. In the same win over Lafayette, he added two assists after helping on the game winner against defending Patriot League champion Navy.
The 2014 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Capital One Academic All-American Thomson (Cramlington, England) was an honorable mention for the NSCAA. He played every minute in goal this season for the Terriers and finished with a 0.75 goals against average and impressive .814 save percentage.
The duo helped BU finished 12-4-4 and 6-0-3 in league play to claim its first regular season title since 2011 despite being selected sixth in the preseason poll. The Terriers also reached their first conference tournament final since 2008.
