
Terriers Visit Dayton Saturday Night

BOSTON - Making its final road trip of the non-conference schedule, the Boston University men's basketball team will travel to Dayton on Saturday (Dec. 20) with action set for 7 p.m.
The Terriers (3-6) will be seeking back-to-back wins for the first time this season after a 71-68 come-from-behind win over Quinnipiac, while the Flyers (7-2) will try to avoid their first two-game losing streak of the year following a 69-55 defeat at Arkansas last weekend.
Fans unable to attend the game can watch a broadcast on SNY or in Ohio through the TimeWarner Sports Channel.
TEN TERRIER TIDBITS
• BU has scored at least 70 points in all three victories this season ... The Terriers are averaging 65.7 ppg.
• With the win over the Bobcats and two non-conference games remaining against Dayton and Wentworth, BU will try to end a non-conference schedule with three straight wins for the first time since 2002-03.
• The Terriers will be seeking their first win against the Atlantic 10 since a 70-64 victory at Rhode Island on Nov. 26, 2011 ... BU dropped hard-fought decisions at Saint Joseph's (73-67) and George Washington (70-60) last season despite owning second-half leads.
• Two Terriers own a double-double this season ... Junior Nathan Dieudonne posted his second career one at Norfolk State (11p, 10r), and sophomore Cedric Hankerson posted his first at New Hampshire with a career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds.
• Hankerson ranks in the top 15 in eight Patriot League categories, including second in scoring (18.3 ppg), third in made 3-pointers made per game (2.8), t-3rd in steals (2.0 spg), 10th in assists (2.9) and t-13th in rebounding (4.7 rpg).
• Dieudonne ranks second in rebounding at 7.1 rpg ... He helped the Terriers remain close with Quinnipiac in rebounding (34-29) despite the Bobcats featuring the nation's leading-rebounding team at 47.0 rpg and +15 rebounding margin.
• Through nine games, eight Terriers have earned at least one start this year ... Hankerson, junior John Papale and junior Justin Alston have started all nine contests ... Sophomore Cameron Curry earned his first career start against Quinnipiac.
• BU is 0-5 when the bench finishes with equal or fewer points than the opponent's bench ... Sophomore Eric Fanning is the leading scorer off the bench and third overall at 8.8 ppg ... He also leads the team in free throw shooting at 82.9 percent.
• Papale leads the team in assists at 3.7 apg while second in scoring at 10.3 ppg ... He hit the game-winning 3-pointer against Quinnipiac with 3.4 seconds remaining to break the 68-68 deadlock.
• The Terriers beat Quinnipiac despite trailing five minutes to go ... In 2013-14, BU went 1-9 when trailing with five minutes left in regulation.
SCOUTING DAYTON
• Picked third in the A-10 preseason poll, the Flyers are 7-1 this season when holding opponents to less than 70 ppints in a game and currently rank 35th nationally in scoring defense (57.9 ppg) ... All three BU wins this year have come with 70 or more points.
• 6-foot-4 senior guard Jordan Sibert leads Dayton in scoring at 14.8 ppg, while 6-foot-6 junior forward Dyshawn Pierre averages 11.0 ppg and a team-high 6.1 rpg.
• The Flyers have already faced two teams from New England ... Beat Boston College (65-53) after losing to UConn (75-64) during the Puerto Rico Tip-Off ... Also beat the SEC's Texas A&M (55-53) in P.R. ... Other loss this season came at Arkansas (69-55).
• Dayton is outscoring opponents by an average of 7.1 ppg with the help of 88 extra free throw attempts.
• 6-foot-9 forward Devon Scott (9.1 ppg, 7.4 rpg) and 6-foot-9 forward Jalen Robinson (3.2 ppg, 2.4 rpg) were both dismissed from the program earlier this week.
• Dayton has made 15 NCAA appearances and 24 trips to the NIT ... Its home arena serves as host for the first round of the NCAA tournament, officially titled The First Four.
SERIES HISTORY
• The teams met for the first time on Dec. 29, 2009 at Dayton ... The Flyers jumped out to an early 17-2 lead, but BU pulled within 54-50 with 14:30 remaining ... Dayton responded with an 11-2 run over the following six minutes to pull away for the 74-60 victory.
• Both squads advanced to the postseason that year ... BU advanced to the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational, while the Flyers went on to win the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

• The Terriers will conclude their non-conference schedule against Wentworth at Case Gym on Monday, Dec. 29 with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
