
Terriers Set to Host Binghamton Wednesday Night

BOSTON - Continuing a three-game homestand, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Binghamton on Wednesday in Case Gym with action slated for 7:30 p.m. The contest is part of a Terrier basketball doubleheader, which will begin with the women battling against New Hampshire at 5:30 p.m.
The Terriers (1-4) will meet the Bearcats (1-6) for the first time since sweeping a home-and-home series in 2012-13 when BU was still in the America East.
TEN TERRIER TIDBITS
• BU has dropped its last three games, matching last season's longest losing streak suffered Dec. 7-15, 2013.
• Sophomore Cedric Hankerson currently ranks in the top 15 in eight different Patriot League categories, including first in 3-pointers made (3.2), second in scoring (20.6 ppg), seventh in assists (3.6 apg) and 13th in rebounding (4.8 rpg).
• Hankerson has scored at least 20 points in three straight games, the longest streak since Darryl Partin ('12) had seven consecutive performances in 2011-12.
• Junior Nathan Dieudonne ranks second in the Patriot League in rebounding at 7.8 rpg while averaging 9.0 ppg ... Both he and Hankerson own a double-double this season.
• The Terriers are having much greater success getting to the line so far compared to last year ... They are averaging 23.6 trips after averaging 16.9 in 2013-14.
• Hankerson, junior John Papale and freshman Cheddi Mosely have combined for 39 of the Terriers' 43 3-pointers this season ... BU leads the PL in made 3-pointers at 8.6 per game.
• A total of six Terriers have reached double figures this season ... Junior Justin Alston hit the mark for the second time in his career with 13 points at Norfolk State, and sophomore Eric Fanning tallied 12 at No. 1 Kentucky after reaching double figures six times as a freshman at Wagner in 2012-13.
• BU was selected sixth in the Patriot League preseason poll after returning just 32.9% of points, 42.0% of rebounds and 15.9% of assists from last year's 24-10 Patriot League regular season champion team.
• In the previous two defeats to the America East, BU shot 36.1 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe ... New Hampshire and UMass Lowell shot a combined 45.9 percent and 78.0 percent, respectively.
• The BU bench was shut out on Sunday against UML for the first time since Feb. 19, 2012 at Loyola Maryland in the ESPN BracketBusters.
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
• The Bearcats have dropped their last four games, including ontests against Patriot League members Army (80-54) and Navy (70-68).
• 6-foot-6 freshman forward Willie Rodriguez leads Binghamton in both scoring (11.4 ppg) and rebounding (5.1 rpg) ... He is averaging 14.8 ppg in last five games.
• 6-foot-9 freshman center Dusan Perovic is averaging 9.9 ppg and has hit a team-high nine 3-pointers.
• Team is without junior 6-foot-2 guard Jordan Reed, who is currently on a leave of absence after appearing in five games ... Last season, he became just the second player in America East history to reach at least 900 points and 500 rebounds through two seasons ... Terrier Hall of Famer Tunji Awojobi ('97) was the first.
• Binghamton's lone win came against Hartwick (82-51) back on Nov. 19.
• Bearcats are shooting 37.7 percent from the field and are averaging 57.9 ppg ... They are being out-rebounded by a 2.1 margin and are losing the turnover battle by a 2.4 margin.
SERIES HISTORY
• The Terriers lead the all-time series, 20-5, and have won the last eight meetings.
• Teams first met in 2002 when Binghamton joined the America East ... While fellow members, the Terriers claimed the conference title in 2002 and 2011 ... The Bearcats edged BU, 60-59, in their last win in Case Gym before eventually capturing the 2009 league title.
