Terriers Claim Sweep over Lafayette, Fall to No. 24 Harvard

RESULTS: Lafayette (W, 7-0) | No. 24 Harvard (L, 6-1)
BOSTON - After earning a 7-0 home victory over Lafayette, the Boston University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 24 Harvard on Sunday afternoon.
The Terriers (4-5) won all six singles points against the Leopards (1-1) in straight sets after sweeping through doubles. The Crimson (6-4) then won two of three in doubles followed by five of six in singles to snap BU's three-match win streak.
Seniors Chanon Varapongsittikul and Jesse Frieder teamed together for No. 1 doubles wins against both Lafayette (8-3) and Harvard (8-4). They also picked up singles wins at No. 1 and 2, respectively, against the Leopards.
Sophomore Stefan Lemire prevented Harvard from earning a blank sheet by rallying from a set down at No. 3 singles. He topped Kelvin Lam, 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 to give BU its first point of the season against a ranked squad after an earlier 7-0 loss to then-No. 63 Dartmouth.
The Terriers will next face fellow Patriot League member Colgate in Verona, N.Y., on Saturday (March 1) at 11 a.m.
