FAIRFAX, Va. - The Boston University men's track & field competed at the George Mason Invitational on Saturday at George Mason Stadium.
BU took 10th after earning 30 points. The Terriers competed solely on the track Saturday and combined for four top-10 finishes, including one victory.
Sophomore Alec Olson won the 3,000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:07.38, winning by more than five seconds, while classmate Kevin Thomas took second in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:28.81. Freshman Ethan Homan had a time of 1:51.07 in the 800m run while junior Ben Ravetz (3:53.07) and freshman Matti Groll (3:56.09) competed in the 1,500m run.
Freshman Justin Flynn finished fifth in the 200m dash with a mark of 21.53 seconds and was eighth in the 100m dash final with a time off 11.85 seconds. He qualified with a time of 11.78 seconds in the prelims. Classmate Cameron Williams also competed in the 100m dash prelims with a time of 11.12 seconds and had a personal-best mark of 21.65 seconds in the 200m dash.
BU will be back in action next week when the Terriers compete at the Holy Cross Decathlon (April 16-17) and the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT.
