
BU Finishes Fourth at ECAC Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Boston University women's track & field team finished at the ECAC Championships this past weekend, hosted by Princeton at William Weaver Track & Field Stadium.
BU earned 39 points, one point shy of third-place Hampton (40). Connecticut (85) placed first and Harvard (46) was second. 56 different teams earned points over the weekend.
Senior Allison Barwise led the Terriers with a victory in the high jump. She achieved a height of 1.85 meters. Senior Nikko Brady finished fourth in the final of the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.92 seconds and was also fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.88 meters while junior Tessa Runels competed in the triple jump (11.93m).
Senior Rosa Moriello had a career day in the 5,000m run, finishing second with a personal-best time of 16:18.08. Sophomore Michelle Sumner finished fifth in the 10,000m run with a time of 35:54.26, with freshman Sarah Saccoach placing ninth in that event with a personal-best time of 36:12.04 Freshman Felicia Sciortino turned in a personal-best time of 10:40.28 to finish ninth in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Junior Gemma Acheampong was sixth in the final of the 100m dash (11.98) after a time of 11.78 seconds in the prelims and a mark of 11.74 seconds in the semis. The 4x400m relay team of senior Hannah Wiley, freshman Toria Levy, freshman Djenne Parris and sophomore Christy Wood was just .05 seconds off their school-record time, finishing third in the final with a time of 3:38.82. On Saturday, the foursome qualified for the finals with a time of 3:41.95 in the prelims. Levy (1:01.01) and Wiley (1:01.93) each competed in the 400m hurdles while Acheampong (24.21) and Wood (24.27) each ran the 200m dash.
Next up for the Terriers will be the NCAA East Preliminaries on May 29-31 at the University of North Florida.
