
Terriers Compete at NCAA Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Gemma Acheampong, Monica Adler and Nikko Brady of the Boston University women's track & field team all competed at the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Track and Field Preliminary Championships on Thursday night at the University of North Florida.
Adler finished the 1,500m run with a personal-best time of 4:23.62 while Acheampong completed the 100m dash in 12.01 seconds. Brady had a mark of 5.88 meters in the long jump and will be back in action tomorrow when she competes in the 100m hurdles. That event is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Acheampong completed an impressive junior season in which she set a new school record in the 100m dash with a time of 11.61 seconds. She will return next year along with Adler, who in addition to winning the 1,500m run at the Patriot League Championships was a USTFCCCA First-Team All-America selection in the indoor season.
Allison Barwise will also compete tomorrow, as she takes part in the high jump (5 p.m.). Rosa Moriello is set to take the track in the 5,000m run on Saturday night.
