BOSTON - Currently sitting at No. 29 in the College Soccer News top-30 national poll, the Boston University men's soccer team will put its six-game unbeaten streak on the line Tuesday at Brown with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.
Following last week's 1-0 overtime win at Colgate and 2-1 come-from-behind win over Loyola Maryland, the Terriers (8-2-1) have skyrocketed from No. 60 to No. 30 in the NCAA RPI rankings. They will face a difficult opponent in the Bears (5-4-1), who sit at No. 49 with key victories over No. 51 Columbia and No. 55 Providence.
TERRIER TIDBITS
• BU has opened a season without being shut out through 11 games ... That's the best mark since the Terriers avoided a shutout while going 9-4-0 in 1968.
• In Saturday's win over the Greyhounds, both senior Richie Robinson and freshman Nicki Wieners earned their first goals of the season ... The Terriers have now had nine different individuals find the back of the net while outscoring opponents, 17-9.
• Freshman Magnus Benediktsson became the second Terrier this season to be named Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday, joining T.J. Butzke ... He earned the nod after assisting on both game-winning goals and moving into the team lead with four assists.
• Sophomore Anthony Viteri leads the PL and team with six goals while also adding two assists to post a PL-high 1.27 points per game ... His three game winners rank 17th nationally.
• Junior Matt Gilbert repeated as the PL Goalkeeper of the Week after posting a combined 14 saves in the two wins ... With the help of the backline featuring three PL Defenders of the Week, he has earned five shutouts this season ... He ranks eighth nationally in save percentage at 0.862 and 12th in saves per game at 5.09.
SCOUTING BROWN
• The Bears sit at No. 49 in the latest NCAA RPI rankings with key wins over No. 51 Columbia and No. 55 Providence and will be concluding a three-game homestand against the No. 30 Terriers.
• Brown is winless in its last two meetings with a 1-0 loss to Boston College and 1-1 draw against Princeton ... The Bears have an earlier win against another PL member, Holy Cross (1-0) ... Both the Bears and BU have posted 2-1 victories over UMass.
• Jack Hagstrom leads the Bears with 10 points off five goals ... Seven men have scored at least one goal this season ... Jack Gorab owns a team-high three assists.
• Goalkeeper Erik Hanson has started eight of the 10 games at net and owns a .714 save percentage with a 1.45 goals against average ... The Bears have three shutouts.
SERIES HISTORY
• Brown leads the all-time series, 22-14-4, that dates back to 1969 ... The Bears are 5-0-2 in the last seven contests, having won the last five meetings by a combined score of 9-1 with four shutouts.
• The Terriers last won at Brown in 2007 by a 1-0 margin ... They have only scored in three of the last seven matchups with the Bears ... In 2013 at Stevenson Field, BU scored the equalizer in the sixth minute, but Brown came back with two more goals in the first half for the 3-1 win.
• Last year in the third game of the season, BU was ranked No. 23 by the NSCAA and dropped a 1-0 decision to Brown at Nickerson Field ... The Bears netted the game winner in the 85th minute with a header off a free kick ... Brown owned a 10-8 advantage in shots with the Terriers unable to put an attempt on goal.

• The Terriers will play their fourth road game in five contests at Lafayette on Saturday (Oct. 17) at 1 p.m. in a key Patriot League matchup ... BU is 3-0-1 in the PL with 10 points, one more ahead of Navy (3-0-0 PL) and three ahead of the Leopards (2-1-1 PL).
