
BU Set to Visit Lafayette Saturday Afternoon

BOSTON - Currently sitting atop the Patriot League standings, the Boston University men's soccer team will resume the conference schedule at Lafayette on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Terriers (8-3-1, 3-0-1 PL) had their six-game unbeaten streak snapped on Tuesday in their first shutout loss of the year at Brown and will now put thier 13-game conference regular season unbeaten streak on the line against the Leopards (5-3-5, 2-1-1 PL), who are owners of seven shutouts in 13 contests.
TERRIER TIDBITS
• Before the 2-0 loss at Brown, BU opened a season without being shut out through 11 games ... That's the best mark since the Terriers avoided a shutout while going 9-4-0 in 1968.
• The Terriers are riding a 13-game unbeaten streak in conference regular season action ... Last year, they went 6-0-3 for their first unbeaten league record since 1994 ... They have a long ways to go to match the record streak of 29 games (28-0-1), which was set from 1989-1993.
• BU is 2-0-1 in overtime games this year with golden goals at Fordham and at Colgate ... The Leopards have participated in seven overtime contests and are 0-2-5.
• The Terriers are 4-2-0 on the road, while Lafayette is 4-1-2 at home ... BU's other road loss came at Princeton.
• BU leads opponents in corners, 42-21, in the first half but trail in the second half, 29-25.
• Five men have combined for eight game winners with sophomore Anthony Viteri (6g) and junior Felix De Bona (4g) tallying five total.
• Reigning two-time PL Goalkeeper of the Week Matt Gilbert has a 0.847 save percentage and 0.89 goals against average ... The backline has tallied three combined saves to help the Terriers record five shutouts.
SCOUTING LAFAYETTE
• The Leopards have only scored one goal in the last four games but went 1-1-2 during that stretch with a 1-0 home win vs. Bucknell and 1-0 overtime loss at American … The two 0-0 draws came against Loyola Maryland and NJIT.
• Lafayette is 4-1-2 at home with key wins over Cornell, Army West Point and Fairleigh Dickinson … Its lone loss came against Albany, who will coincidentally be visiting BU on Tuesday.
• Ryan Egan (2g, 1a) and Ben Marks (1g, 3a) lead the Leopards with five points apiece ... Nine individuals have combined for Lafayette's 10 goals.
• Brad Seeber has started 11 games and owns six shutouts ... Brian Ehrlich has two starts with one shutout ... The two men have combined for a 0.42 goals against average and 0.898 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
• The series is tied at 1-1 with both teams winning at home.
• The Leopards scored two first-half goals and earned five saves for a 2-0 shutout win in 2013 ... Last year, BU jumped out to a 2-0 lead through the first 49 minutes and added an insurance goal in the 80th minute for the 3-1 victory.
