McKenzie Hollenbaugh
November 17, 2015 | Women's Soccer
A big part in the Boston University women’s soccer team defeating St. John’s in the NCAA First Round, senior center back McKenzie Hollenbaugh has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Hollenbaugh was matched up with the Red Storm’s Rachel Daly, who was ranked second in Division I women’s soccer in goals per game going into Saturday’s matchup. Aside from two early shots on net, Hollenbaugh shut down Daly on offense, who had just one off-target shot after halftime.
A strong defensive effort throughout the first and second halves led to the win, as the Terriers were able to go on the attack later in the game in front of their solid defensive unit. The win was just the fifth NCAA victory in program history and enabled BU to advance to the Second Round.
The Terriers are set to face Penn State on Friday, Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m.
