KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three Terriers earned spots on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Mid-Atlantic Region Teams, the association announced on Friday. Seniors McKenzie Hollenbaugh, Clare Pleuler and Jenna Fisher all earned spots on one of the three All-Region teams.
Hollenbaugh, the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, earned a spot on the All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team following an incredible performance throughout conference play to help the Terriers clinch their 10th NCAA berth in 11 years. Her selection to the first team marks the seventh straight year a Terrier has been placed on an NSCAA All-Region team.
The Glastonbury, Conn. native was part of a defense that allowed just two goals and 29 total shots on net throughout BU’s nine-game conference schedule. Hollenbaugh’s incredible play during the NCAA First Round at St. John’s helped the Terriers collect the program’s fifth NCAA win.
Pleuler, a midfielder, was named to the All-Region second team. The leader of a midfield unit that included two freshman starters, Pleuler led by example with her incredible technical skill and defensive prowess. The Gloucester, Mass. native was often a catalyst on offense, providing a spark in the midfield that carried into the attacking third. Pleuler finished the season with four goals, all game-winners, and four assists on the season.
Fisher, an attacking midfielder, earned a spot on the All-Region third team. The Longmeadow, Mass. native plays the full length of the field as an important part of both the offense and defense. She totaled five goals and four assists on the season including two game-winners and recorded a team-leading 20 shots on goal.
