August 24, 2015 | Women's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA - A defensive duel ended in a 0-0 stalemate between the Boston University women's soccer team and La Salle on Monday evening at McCarthy Stadium.
Both the Terriers (0-1-1) and the Explorers (0-1-0) are in search of their first wins of the season following the result.
Alyssa Parisi was steadfast in goal throughout 110 minutes, making four saves en route to her sixth career shutout. La Salle's Katie Getzinger matched her efforts, also playing the entire game and making four saves.
BU held an advantage in both shots (16-13) and corners (7-3) but was unable to find a successful play at the net.
Play stayed quiet throughout most of the first and second half but each team was able to put together some exciting offensive efforts near the end of the game but ultimately the Terrier and Explorer defenses held fast to prevent any goals from being scored.
Boston University is back in action this weekend when the Terriers head to Milwaukee, Wis. to face Northwestern on Friday night at 6 p.m. and Marquette on Sunday at 2 p.m.
