Terriers Volunteer at Walk Now for Autism Speaks

More than 20 Boston University student-athletes and coaches volunteered on Sunday at the 14th annual Greater Boston Walk Now for Autism Speaks fundraising and awareness event at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield.
Members of the women's basketball team and men's hockey team arrived at the event before 9 a.m. and assisted in various aspects of the day from setup to breakdown including registering walkers, speaking with participants and interacting with children and parents throughout the day. During this upcoming season the BU men's hockey team will continue to wear blue Autism Speaks puzzle-piece patches on their jerseys to help promote Autism awareness.
More than 20,000 people, including individuals with autism, their families and friends participate in the walk each year. As of Sunday, the Boston Walk had raised more than $537,977.
