
Avila Named Patriot League Swimmer of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Boston University women's swimming and diving sophomore Julimar Avila was named this week's Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Facing five teams so far this season, the Hyde Park, Mass. native has won at least one butterfly event in every competition, starting the season with wins in the 200 fly against Northeastern and Lehigh before switching to the 100 fly, which she has taken first place in for the last three weeks against Lehigh, Bucknell/Richmond and Massachusetts.
This week against UMass, Avila also won the 50 free by 0.48 seconds and helped the 200 medley relay team take first place as the third swimmer, finishing her leg in just 24.57 seconds to get the Terriers ahead by almost two seconds.
The Terriers are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Fordham. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
