Terriers Second after Day One of Terrier Invitational

BOSTON - Paced by three victories, the Boston University women's swimming & diving team is in second place after day one of the Terrier Invitational, held Friday at the Competition Pool.
BU totaled 256 points to easily take second place. Army West Point leads with 314.5 points while UMass, Vermont and Boston College are all tied for third with 117 points.
Erin Nabney was a two-time winner, claiming first in the finals of the 200 IM in addition to helping her team finish first in the 200 free relay. Christy Wilde, Isabella Olivares and Julimar Avila joined Nabney on that first-place relay squad. That quartet also finished third in the 400 medley relay.
Nabney's time of 2:03.74 led her to that victory in the 200 IM finals, with Meghan Egan securing eighth in that race. Wilde (23.60) and Avila (23.61) were second and third, respectively, in the finals of the 50 freestyle.
In the finals of the 500 freestyle, the Terriers finished 1-2 thanks to strong performances from Sarah Hargrave (4:49.21) and Grace Anderson (4:53.42). Carly Soares took sixth and Lauren Dixon was eighth in the championship final of that event.
The divers came out with a strong performance in the 3-meter competition, as five of the seven participating reached the eight-diver finals. Kyra Tatlow was edged by three points for a second-place result at 249.35, while Lizzie Tillo finished third at 241.20.
BU will return to the Competition Pool on Saturday for day two of the Terrier Invitational.
