ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Following the third day of the Patriot League Championship, the men's and women's Boston University swimming and diving teams are both sitting in third place. The women's team is within striking distance of second place Army with 343.5 points while the men have totaled 358.5 points.
Friday featured 22 personal record-setting performances and two more school records broken as Garrett Chin set a school, league and meet record in the 400 IM preliminary round with a time of 3:49.57. The league and meet record did not hold, Chin finished in second place in the finals to earn a silver medal.
Stephanie Nasson also set a school record in the 200 freestyle, her fourth school record in her career. She beat the previous mark by just under one-tenth of a second, setting the new standard at 1:49.50 and finishing in eighth place in the A-Final.
Julimar Avila is the only other Terrier to earn a medal on the day, taking bronze in the women's 100 butterfly in a personal record time. Danielle Yoon also had a PR time in her event, finsihing in fifth place in the A-Final of the 400 IM.
On the men's side, Daniel Andronov had an impressive day, setting a personal record twice and nipping at the school record in the 100 breaststroke in the finals, finishing in fourth place less than two-tenths of a second slower than the BU standard. Matt Traub and Mun Hon Lee also competed in the A-Finals in their events, with Lee finishing in sixth in the 100 butterfly and Traub taking eighth in the 100 backstroke.
Patriot League Championship competition concludes tomorrow, with preliminary races beginning at 10:30 a.m.
