
BU Competes at Skyhawk Invitational

EASTON, Mass. – Six different Terriers won seven events as the Boston University men’s track & field team competed at the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by Stonehill on Saturday.
BU combined to finish fifth as a team and third among Division I schools with a score of 114.5 points. The Terriers tallied 18 top-10 finishes on the afternoon.
Senior Ethan Knight was a two-time winner on Saturday, taking the top spot in both the shot put (16.39m 53’ 9.25”) and the discus (47.26m 155’ 1”).
Senior Alec Olson cruised to a victory in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:11.00, nearly a full minute faster than the second-place competitor. Freshman Robie Webster was also victorious, taking first in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.01 seconds.
Sophomore Peter Katsarakes earned a win thanks to a time of 54.73 seconds in the 400m hurdles while junior Tyler Malone won the triple jump (13.93m 45’ 8.5”).
Graduate student Nikolaos Farmakidis won the pole vault with a mark of 4.85 meters (15’ 11”), with junior Brian Shaeffer finishing third (3.95m 12’ 11.5”). In the hammer throw, senior Reuben Horace finished second with a mark of 53.82 meters (176’ 7”).
Sophomore Conrad Rousseau was fourth in the 400m hurdles (57.64) while freshman Daniel Erickson was sixth in the 3,000m run (9:44.87).
Senior Matt Belikov had two top-10 performances, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the javelin (46.79m 153’ 6”). He also posted a mark of 5.68 meters (18’ 7.75”) in the long jump to finish sixth.
Sophomore Jason Biesma finished fifth in the discus (36.22m 118’ 10”) and also secured seventh in both the javelin (42.40 meters 139’ 1”) and the shot put (11.21m 36’ 9.5”). Senior Young Guang finished third in the shot put (13.72m 45’ 0.25”) and was eighth in the discus (29.69m 97’ 5”).
BU will be back in action next weekend at the Patriot League Championships, hosted by Bucknell on May 6 and 7.
