Terriers Compete at New England Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Boston University men’s track & field team competed at the New England Championships on Friday and Saturday at Southern Connecticut State.
BU finished seventh in the 35-team field thanks to a score of 37 points. The Terriers used five top-10 finishes to place fourth among Division I schools. Northeastern won with 156 points.
Senior Alec Olson was once again impressive in the 3,000m steeplechase, winning in a season-best time of 9:07.10. The 4x100m relay team also secured a victory thanks to a time of 40.43 seconds.
Graduate student Nikolaos Farmakidis finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 5.00 meters (16’ 4.75”). Sophomore Jordan Love was third in the final of the 200m dash, turning in a time of 21.57 seconds. Classmate Peter Katsarakes also had a top-10 performance in a final, securing sixth in the 400m hurdles (53.32).
BU is also in action this weekend at the IC4A Championships, which conclude on Sunday.
