BOSTON—The Boston University women's soccer team was unable to overcome a two-goal deficit and dropped a 2-0 decision to Hofstra on Thursday night at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Both BU and Hofstra put two attempts on goal during the first half but the Pride outshot the Terriers, 13-4, throughout the period.
It took just over two minutes into the second half for Hofstra to break open scoring and take a 1-0 lead. The Pride then followed up the goal with another midway though the period.
The Terriers turned on the offense throughout the second half, putting seven shots on net and getting off 12 total attempts.

GAME NOTES

The Terriers were outshot by the Pride, 20-16, throughout the match but Hofstra's shots on goal were limited to just five while the Terriers put nine on net.
In her first career start, Hannah Ciolek made a career-high three saves.
This is the Pride's first-ever win over the Terriers in the tenth meeting between the schools.

BU returns home after a two-game road trip to take on "B-Line" rival Boston College on Sunday night.
