
Terriers Host John Thomas Classic

BOSTON - The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams began the busiest portion of their indoor schedule on Friday and Saturday when they hosted the John Thomas Terrier Classic at BU's Track and Tennis Center. The Terriers went up against a very large and deep field made up of just under 3,000 student-athletes representing 80 universities. The event also featured approximately 400 post-collegiate athletes competing for a wide variety of clubs.
The women's team had several impressive performances, led by the 4x400m relay team of Ayodele Adesanya, Djenne Parris, Leah Fowlkes and Christy Wood, that finished first with a time of 3:47.42 in a field of 31 teams.
Junior transfer Ayodele Adesanya finished first among collegians in the 500m dash in a field of 52 runners with a time of 1:15.01 while sophomore Courtney Breiner finished the 1-mile run with a time of 4:56.01, a new personal best.
On the men's side, senior Ethan Homan finished an impressive 5th in the men's 1- mile run with a time of 4:00.08, the ninth fastest time in the nation this season, shattering his personal best. The time made Homan the third-fastest miler in BU history behind only All Americans Rich Peters ('14) and David Proctor ('08).
Returning All-American Cameron Williams finished third (second among collegians) in the 200m dash with a very fast time of 20.96. Williams is the school record holder in the event with a time time of 20. 58, set at last year's PL Championships.

- Senior Toria Levy finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.78.
- In the field, sophomore Kennedy Jones finished third in the triple jump with a 11.83m (38' 9.75") effort. She also finished 18th in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 9.20.
- BU's 4x400m relay team, made up of Ayodele Adesanya, Djenne Parris, Leah Fowlkes and Christy Wood, finished first with a time of 3:47.42 in a field of 31 teams.
- Ayodele Adesanya, a junior transfer, finished first among collegians in the 500m dash with a time of 1:15.01 in the field of 52.
- Sophomore Courtney Breiner finished the 1-mile run with a time of 4:56.01, a new personal best. Her time was the 22nd fastest in a large field of 138 runners.
- The Terriers men's track and field team will next compete on Feb. 3rd when BU hosts the Scarlet and White Invitational.
- This weekend's competition is the beginning of a four-week stretch that will see the Terriers host meets each of the next four weekends, culminating with the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 17-19.
