Shreck and Heilferty scored midway through the first half, while Keefe put the finishing touches on the game in the 81st minute. The defense smothered Lafayette's attack all game and did not allow the Leopards to get a shot off.
How it Happened
- Working in transition, McKenna Doyle pushed BU's attack into Lafayette's attacking third before finding Shreck in the middle of the field. From just over 25 yards outs, Shreck took a touch before roping a left-footed strike into the upper 90.
- Minutes later, Shreck continued to stay hot as she found Anna Heilferty streaking towards the goal on a free kick. Working on an angle, Heilferty pushed the ball into the back right corner to extend the lead.
- In the waning minutes of the game, Keefe worked a give-and-go with Libby Closson and Chloee Sagmoe before firing a shot just outside the six-yard box that deflected off Lafayette's netminder and trickled into the back of the net for her first score of the season.
- Shreck netted her second straight game-winning goal against the Leopards, as she previously netted the game-winning goal in last season's 3-0 victory.
- The Terriers outshot Lafayette, 24-0, and also held a commanding 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
- BU improved to 5-0-0 and increased its all-time scoring margin to 18-1 against Lafayette.
- BU's defense earned its fifth straight shutout and has yet to surrender a goal in Patriot League play. The Terriers have outscored conference opponents, 10-0, through their first four games.
- The Terriers have not allowed a goal in 492:37 minutes.
- Amanda Fay earned her fifth straight shutout in net.
- "A complete effort by the team today. I'm really proud of how we played the game and our mental approach and focus. We committed to defend all over the field and demonstrated confidence and poise in our attack."
- BU will stay on the road as it heads to Navy on Saturday, Oct. 7 for an 8 p.m. contest.
