- Both teams had a corner kick in the first five minutes, but neither had a shot attempt until Kammholz rushed off his line to stop a shot from the charging Harry Swartz at 6:33.
- After earlier flicking a cross from freshman Maxwell Aunger just inches wide left, McDonnell made something out of nothing by dribbling through multiple defenders near the goal line and lifting the ball past the keeper despite the tough angle for the 1-0 lead at 36:49.
- The Terriers led at the half with a 7-6 advantage in shots.
- Northeastern was on the attack throughout the second half with eight shot attempts against the Terriers' three.
- The Huskies finally got on the board at 76:58 after Dan Munch collected Khori Bennett's quick pass on the right side that was set up by Lewis Aird's long cross and fired past Kammholz.
- BU dominated possession in both overtimes, but junior NIcki Wieners' had two shots go just wide and another point-blank shot saved by Noah Abrams for the draw.
