
Nelson Earns Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Following a 25-point outing at Delaware on Sunday, freshman Katie Nelson of the Boston University women's basketball team has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Monday.
Nelson poured in 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting in an 85-79 overtime victory against the Blue Hens. The freshman paced the Terriers with seven points on 3-of-3 shooting in extra time, and also posted team-highs of seven assists and four steals, guiding BU to its first win at Delaware since 1992. Nelson also chipped in with five points, four steals and three assists in a 72-57 loss at New Hampshire on Wednesday.
The Falmouth, Massachusetts native leads the Patriot League with 6.0 assists per game and leads all freshmen in the league with 13.3 points per game.
Nelson and the Terries will close out a three-game road trip on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Harvard.
