Nelson Repeats as Patriot League Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - For the second consecutive week, freshman Katie Nelson of the Boston University women's basketball has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Monday.
Nelson continued her tear on the attack as she led BU in scoring in each of its games against Harvard (Nov. 21) and Boston College (Nov. 26) last week, netting 19 points in both contests. For the week, Nelson shot both 42.8 percent from the floor (12-for-28) and from beyond beyond-the-arc (9-for-21). She also dished out five assists against the Crimson and three against the Eagles, while only turning the ball over once in each game. Additionally, Nelson matched a season-high with four steals against Boston College, leading BU to its first win in the series since 2012.
The freshman becomes the first Terrier in program history to win back-to-back Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors and is the first Terrier to win consecutive conference rookie honors since Chantell Alford '13 won five straight America East Rookie of the Week titles in 2010.
The Falmouth, Massachusetts native leads the Patriot League with 5.2 assists per game and leads all freshmen in the league with 15.4 points per game.
