Winans Breaks 200 Free School Record on Day One of PL Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Trevor Winans' first race at the 2017 Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships resulted in a school record as the sophomore led off the 800 freestyle relay with a 200 time of 1:37.47 to set a Boston University school record on day one of the meet at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
The first men's race of the meet was the 200 medley relay where Quinn Smith, Daniel Andronov, Oliver Maarse and Brian Habacivch swam a 1:29.77 to place third. Winans and the 800 freestyle relay quartet that also included Judson Balding, Tommy Hagerty and Matt Traub placed fifth with a time of 6:38.57.
The previous school mark in the 200 free was 1:37.68, set by Cole Puchi in 2014.
Through those two events, the Terriers have accumulated 60 points to place third behind Army West Point (80) and Bucknell (66)
