MEDFORD, Mass. - The Boston University women's track & field team won the 2017 Snowflake Classic, hosted by Tufts on Sunday afternoon.
BU finished with 119 points, three clear of the host Jumbos. The Terriers posted three victories and 15 top-five performances to earn the team title.
Cynthia Aroke was one of those victors, as she won the 400m dash with a time of 58.96 seconds. The Terriers claimed the top four spots in the 5,000m run, led by
Abigail Gugel in first (17:24.36). She was followed by
Michelle Sumner (17:38.85),
Alicia Huerta (18:00.75) and
Sarah Saccoach (18:02.24). In the 3,000m steeplechase, the Terriers went 1-2 with
Gabrielle DiRenzo (11:27.89) and
Hallie Armstrong (11:32.12).Â
Paige Ferrucci secured second in the 1,500m run (4:47.47),
Cara Moyer was second in the 10,000m run (39:29.12) andÂ
Fiona Doolan finished fourth in the 800m run (2:21.35).
Jordan Coverson (1:07.20) and
Casey Kelly (1:08.72) were second and third, respectively, in the 400m hurdles while
Gillian Morrison was fourth in the 100m hurdles (16.17).
In the field,
Sarah Chow (3.25m) and
Zoe Beard (3.10m) were second and third, respectively, in in the pole vault.
