Hollenbaugh, Strom Sign Professional Contracts

July 28, 2017

BOSTON - With the fall season approaching, a pair of former Boston University women's soccer standouts in McKenzie Hollenbaugh and Kylie Strom have signed contracts to continue their professional soccer careers overseas.

Hollenbaugh will be departing next month for Normandy, France to compete for the Le Havre Athletic Club (HAC). The season will begin on Sept. 10 and end the following May. In addition to playing soccer, Hollenbaugh will be working as a market analyst and event coordinator for the club. Currently on the Boston Breakers Reserves, Hollenbaugh is en route to Norco, California for the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) National Championship, as the Reserves will look for its second straight title.

"I am beyond excited and grateful for this opportunity!" exclaimed Hollenbaugh. "I consider myself blessed that I am still able to play at a high level and hope to continue to do so further down the road. I am excited for the cultural journey a head as well as a chance to help lay a foundation for the HAC Women's Program. I cannot thank my family enough for always telling me go after my dreams. I also cannot thank my friends, teammates, and coaches enough for their support throughout the years and the countless hours they put in. BU has provided me with amazing opportunities and has taught be a lot in four years, but my biggest take away is, go for it. If you never take a risk and you never go after what you want, then you will always be stuck in a static state. Now, on to the next adventure!"

Additionally, Strom will be heading for the Czech Republic to compete with AC Spara Praha. This will be Strom's second stint overseas as she spent the 2015 season in Germany playing for FFC Frankfurt II before competing with the Boston Breakers the past two seasons.
