
Terrier Duo Earns ITA Scholar-Athlete Status

BOSTON – After helping lead the Boston University men's tennis team to the Patriot League semifinals and finishing with a GPA above 3.50, recent graduate Mario Sandoval and rising sophomore J.P. Avila have been named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athletes.
The honor marks the fourth for Sandoval, who finished with a GPA of 3.69 for the academic year. Avila claimed his first award with a 3.63 GPA.
Both men were previously named to the Patriot League Academic Honor for claiming a GPA above 3.20 alongside recent graduate Jake De Vries and rising sophomore Marc Sable.
