October 29, 2018 | Women's Soccer
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After guiding the Boston University women's soccer team to the regular season Patriot League title, head coach Nancy Feldman was named the Patriot League Coach of the Year, while Taylor Kofton earned Rookie of the Year honors and was joined by four Terriers on the All-Patriot League teams, as announced by the conference Monday.
Anna Heilferty and and Dorrie Varley-Barrett each earned a spot on the First Team, while the duo of Chelsea Churchill and Libby Closson earned Second Team honors, and Kofton rounded out the All-Patriot League selections in being named to the Third Team.
The Terriers claimed their second outright regular season league Patriot League championship after posting a 7-0-2 mark in conference play. BU allowed just two goals in league play and won all seven of its conference games via shutout fashion. Feldman earned her second career Patriot League Coach of the Year nod, marking the 11th time she has collected conference coach of the year honors.

Heilferty earned her second straight all-league selection after leading the Terriers in goals (5), assists (6) and points (16). The 2017 Patriot League Rookie of the Year racked up three goals and four assists during conference play and produced at least one point in six of nine Patriot League contests.
A tenacious presence at the midfield, Varley-Barrett claimed her third career all-league honor and her first nod to the First Team. The senior captain aided BU to tie for the league lead with a 1.22 scoring margin in conference action.
Churchill and Closson were integral pieces in guiding BU to eight shutouts, while limiting conference opponents to just 0.22 goals and 6.1 shots per game.
Kofton caught fire midway through the conference season, netting both game-winning goals against Lafayette and Navy, and led the Terriers with four goals over the course of the Patriot League season.
BU will host the Patriot League Tournament this weekend at Nickerson Field. The Terriers will open up the tournament on Friday, Nov. 2 at 4:30 p.m. against the lowest remaining seed from the quarterfinal round.
