BU Falls to Lehigh, Northeastern in Season Opener

BOSTON - Hosting Lehigh and Northeastern in its season opener, the Boston University women's swimming and diving team suffered a pair of loses Saturday afternoon at Competition Pool. The Huskies came out on top, 172-128, while Lehigh edged the Terriers, 159-141.
Carly Soares posted four top-three finishes on the afternoon, winning the 200 breast to go with podium finishes in the 200 medley relay, 100 breast and the 200 IM. Julimar Avila also recorded multiple top-three finishes, winning the 100 fly and aiding the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay teams to second-place finishes. Kate Russack recorded the lone other victory for BU in the one-meter dive, and additionally placed second in the three-meter dive.
BU will head to Lewisburg, Pa. next Saturday for another double-dual meet against Bucknell and Richmond.
