BOSTON - The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will open their 2018-19 indoor season on Saturday at BU's Track & Tennis Center.
Boston University Athletics announced this month that the BU Season Opener will be renamed the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in honor of BU Hall of Famer and two-time Olympian Sharon Colyear-Danville ('83).
A new banner will be hung at the Track and Tennis Center and a brief ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the women's 60m hurdles finals marking the dedication. The start time of women's 60m hurdles is scheduled for 12:45 p.m.
"We are very excited to start our 2018-19 indoor season and to honor BU Hall of Famer Sharon Colyear-Danville" said Boston University director of track & field Robyne Johnson. "Sharon is a true inspiration to us both on and off the track and this dedication is well-deserved. For our team, after so many long hours of hard work and training it will be great to get out on the track against good competition and see where we are at.
