Compher Named Hockey East Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore Jesse Compher of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Compher led the entire nation in points and assists this past week to help lead the Terriers to a weekend sweep at RIT. She tallied two goals and added five assists for seven points in two games, including an NCAA-best four primary helpers. On Saturday, Compher collected a career-high four assists as part of a career-best five-point afternoon in the Terriers' 8-0 victory.

A native of Northbrook, Illinois, Compher has emerged as one of the top forwards in the country. She is tied for first in the conference and fourth in the nation with 31 points, and her 20 assists ranks first in the league and second in the NCAA. Compher has averaged an NCAA-leading 1.25 assists per game and is on a nation-best 13-game assist streak. Her 13-game point streak is the second longest active streak in the nation

While the Terriers are off until Dec. 30, Compher will head to the 2018 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp, which will take place Dec. 17-21 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
