
Terriers to Open Outdoor Season at Hurricane Invite

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will open their 2018 outdoor season on Friday and Saturday, competing at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami.
The two-day meet at Cobb Stadium will begin on Friday at 1 p.m. with the men's discus. The pole vault, hammer throw and high jump will complete the field events on Friday. The men's and women's 5000m will be the only track events on Friday. Saturday will feature a full day of events starting with the women's 4x100m relay at 1 p.m. and conclude with the men's 4x400m relay at 4:50 p.m.
The Terriers will send out a full squad over the weekend. On the men's side, the Terriers will see the return of All-American David Oluwadara who will compete in both the long jump and triple jump. The graduate student, who did not compete during the indoor season, is the defending PL outdoor triple jump champion. He last competed during the 2016-17 indoor season when he set a school record in the triple jump (16.07m, 52' 8.75"), qualified for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships and was named second team NCAA Div. I All-American.
On the women's side, the Terriers will be led by senior Tehya Noell who will run the 100m hurdles at on Saturday. Noell won gold in the 60m hurdles (8.53) and gold in the long jump (5.89m 19' 14") at the PL Indoor Championships in February.
Sophomore Leah Fowlkes will compete in the 200m dash on Saturday. Fowlkes recently won gold in the 500m run (1:13.86) and bronze in the 200m dash (25.01) at PL Indoors.

After this weekend's competition, the Terriers will next compete at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., on March 28- 29.
