Promotion Terrier Tailgate

BOSTON - The 14th annual Terrier Tailgate will take place on Sunday, Sept. 2 as the Boston University women's soccer team and UConn will kickoff the start of the academic year. 

Fans are encouraged to arrive early for free food, pre-game festivities, games, a vuvuzela giveaway and other prizes. All attendees will receive free admission, while the BU Class of 2022 can pick up free t-shirts at the game.

Parking Advisory

  • Due to multiple events on campus this Friday, Aug. 31, through Monday, Sept. 3, parking will be limited. Also, be advised that Labor Day Weekend is move-in time for BU students both on campus and throughout the City of Boston.
Terrier Tidbits
  • BU is coming off its second double overtime loss of the season, suffering a 3-2 setback at Northeastern Thursday night.
  • Anna Heilferty and McKenna each found the back of the net and combined for nine of BU's 20 shots.
  • Heilferty leads the Terriers in goals (2) and ranks second in the Patriot League in shots per game (3.40).
  • Morgan Messner has started the last two games in net and stopped four shots against the Huskies.
  • The Terriers have depth all-around, as 14 players have seen action in all five games and 11 more have seen the field this season.
  • Head coach Nancy Feldman is three wins away from her 300th career victory at BU.
  • Feldman has posted a 297-148-44 (.652) mark during her tenure at BU and owns a 389-166-53 (.683) career record.
Scouting the Huskies
  • UConn is coming off a 3-0 shutout against Rutgers to drop to 1-4 on the season.
  • Sophie Danyko-Kulchycky leads the team with two goals, while Pato Jerzak and Erin Spillane own one score apiece.
  • Randi Palacios has played every minute in net, surrendering 2.20 goals per game and claims a .694 save percentage.
  • Margaret Rodriguez is in her first year at the helm of the Huskies after spending 10 years as an assistant and associate head coach under 37-year head coach Len Tsantiris.
  • Rodriguez, a 1999 graduate of UConn, racked up 128 points on 43 goals and 42 assists and ranks fourth all-time in program history in scoring.
The Series
  • UConn holds a 5-4 edge in the series and won the most recent matchup, 1-0, in 2016.
  • BU is 2-0 on Nickerson Field against the Huskies and Sunday will be the first time the squads will kickoff in Boston since 2013.
