BOSTON – The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will host the 2019 John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday and Saturday at the BU Track and Tennis Center. The women's competition starts on Friday at 1 p.m. followed by the men on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
 
The Terriers will look to build on last week's performance at the BU Multi Team Meet. On the women's side, senior Ebony Brown finished first in the 200m dash with a time of 25:09 in a field of 21. For the men, sophomore Nikolas Smith finished first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.98 and third in the 200m dash with a time of 21.72, a new personal best.

TERRIER LEADERS

WOMEN
Headed into the weekend, junior Leah Fowlkes currently leads the Patriot league in the 200m dash with a time of 24.13 which she set at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Dec. 1. Sophomore Bridget Chiaravalle leads the PL in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.88 set at the Howlin Husky Invite on Dec. 8.
 
MEN
Sophomore Nikolas Smith currently has the third-best 60m dash time in the Patriot League with a mark of 6.91 set at the Howlin Husky Invite on Dec. 8. Smith also has the fourth-best time in the 200m dash with a time of 21.72 which he set at the BU Multi Team Meet on Dec. 1.

NEXT UP
After this week's competition, the Terriers will host the Bruce Lehane Scarlett and White Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2 at BU's Track and Tennis Center.
