BOSTON – In a rematch of last year's Patriot League semifinal contest, the Boston University men's basketball team will host two-time defending conference champion Bucknell on Saturday afternoon with tip-off slated for 1 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU shared two non-conference opponents with the Bison with the Terriers winning at CAA preseason favorite Northeastern (75-72) and falling at home to America East preseason favorite Vermont (78-72) ... Bucknell fell at home to the Huskies (96-78) and won at Vermont (69-61).
The Terriers own a 3-2 home record following a 74-66 loss to MEAC preseason favorite Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 21 ... They own wins against Nicholls State (75-63), UMass Lowell (79-60) and Emerson (94-57).
Leading scorer and 2018 All-PL Third Team member Max Mahoney went a perfect 6-of-6 on Wednesday at American en route to 15 points ... He currently ranks sixth nationally at 68.7 FG% while averaging a team-high 16.1 ppg.
In the same game against the Eagles, redshirt-freshman Alex Vilarino became the seventh Terrier to reach double figures with 10 points ... Both sophomore Javante McCoy (10.6 ppg) and junior Tyler Scanlon (13.8 ppg) combined for 32 points in the same contest.
On the defensive end, Mahoney and Scanlon are averaging a combined 10.8 rebounds per game to help the Terriers out-rebound opponents by 2.6 rpg.
BU ranks 59th at 47.8 FG%, which is just shy of the program-record 48.4 FG% set in 1983-84.
The Terriers are averaging 71.1 ppg while holding opponents to 68.7 ppg

SCOUTING BUCKNELL

After posting a 15-1 home record last season with the lone loss occurring against the Terriers last January, Bucknell has had greater success away from home this season ... The Bison are 1-3 at home with a 6-3 record on the road.
Bucknell rallied from a 37-13 halftime deficit to win at Army West Point (64-63) on Wednesday following a 2-1 performance at the University of Hawaii's Diamond Head Classic that featured victories over UNLV and Rhode Island ... The Bison nearly shocked then-No. 14 Ohio State in a 63-61 loss and claimed wins at La Salle and Vermont.
2018 Preseason All-PL forward Nate Sestina is nearly averaging a double-double at 15.3 ppg and 8.4 rpg, while 2017 All-PL Third Team guard Kimbal Mackenzie is averaging 15.1 ppg and 3.6 apg.
Guard Jimmy Sotos is third in scoring at 9.9 ppg and ranks 27th nationally in assists (6.0 apg).
Despite ranking 345th nationally in steals per game (4.2), the Bison own the 95th best assist-turnover ratio (1.16).
Bucknell is averaging 74.1 ppg with the help of 9.3 made 3-pointers per game (50th best) while holding opponents to 73.8 ppg.

SERIES HISTORY

Bucknell leads the all-time series, 12-4, with the Bison winning the first-ever meeting in 2005 at a neutral site.
Last season, both road teams won during the regular season before the Bison rolled to a 90-59 home win in the PL semifinals.
The Bison have won the last six games at BU, including a 91-79 victory last season, with the Terriers last winning in 2009.
