MEET CENTRAL
BOSTON - The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will conclude their indoor season by competing in the ECAC/IC4A Championships this weekend at the Track and Tennis Center.
The men's and women's teams will combine to send out 11 student-athletes to compete in the three-day competition.
The competition begins on Friday with the women's pentathlon beginning at 2:30 p.m. followed by the start of the men's heptathlon at 3 p.m. A busy Saturday schedule will begin with the conclusion of the heptathlon at 9:30 a.m. followed by 34 men's and women's track & field events concluding with the 4x400 trials.
Sunday's action will begin with the triple jump at 9:30 a.m. and conclude with the 4x400 finals and awards ceremony sometime after 4 p.m.
On the men's side, the 4x400m relay team of Ebruba Etta, Jamin Harris, Chiebuka Onwuzurike and Nikolas Smith will compete on Saturday in the trials looking to advance to Sunday's finals. In addition, Haig Rickerby who will run in the 500m dash trials on Saturday hoping to advance to the finals.
For the women, the 4x400m relay team of Ebony Brown, Bridget Chiaravalle, Jordan Coverson and Anna Foreman will compete in the 4x400m trials on Saturday. Fowlkes will also compete in the 200m dash while in the field, Sarah Cicchetti will compete in the weight throw.
BRUCE LEHANE MILE INVITATIONAL - WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
Immediately following the ECAC/IC4A awards ceremony, BU will host the Bruce Lehane Invitational Mile. The men's mile will feature an incredible collection of runners led by two-time World Indoor Champion Komif Kejelcha of the Nike Oregon Project who enters the race with a personal-best mile time of 3:48.46.
On the women's side, Stephanie Schappert, Danielle Aragon, Ce'Aria Brown and Megan Mansy of Hoka One One NJNY TC will headline a star-studded mile with a world record time in reach.
UP NEXT
After this weekend's competition, the Terriers will begin their outdoor season at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla. on March 15-16.
