CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will open their 2019 outdoor season on Friday and Saturday, competing at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami.

The two-day meet at Cobb Stadium will begin on Friday at 12:30 p.m. with the men's discus. The pole vault, hammer throw and high jump will complete the field events on Friday. The men's and women's 5000m will be the only track events on Friday evening. Saturday will feature a full day of events starting with the women's 4x100m relay at 1 p.m. and conclude with the men's 4x400m relay at 5:00 p.m.

The Terriers will send out a full squad of sprinters and field athletes over the weekend. On the women's side, Leah Fowlkes and Jordan Coverson will be two of eight Terriers to compete in the 400m dash. Indoor Patriot League champion Bridget Chiaravalle (60m hurdles) will compete in the 100m hurdles and also the 200m dash.

In the field, indoor PL champion Lovie Burleson (long jump), will compete in both the long jump and the triple jump on Saturday.

On the men's side, the Terries will see the return of graduate student Jason Biesma who will compete in the pole vault and 400m dash. As a senior last indoor season, Biesma broke the BU school record in the heptathlon with 4,902 points.
