Terriers Compete at MIT and Princeton

MIT RESULTS | PRINCETON RESULTS
The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams continued their 2019 outdoor season by competing at two meets over the weekend. The Terriers competed at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invite and the Sean Collier MIT Invite. Both meets faced delays due to weather with Princeton canceling Fridays events and condensing the two-day meet to Saturday only.
In the men's side at Princeton, Alexander Seal competed in the 3000m steeplechase and finished with a fantastic time of 8:58.77, a new personal best and second best in the PL this season. Seal's time is currently 23rd best in the East this outdoor season and would qualify him for NCAA regionals.
On the men's side at MIT, Nikolas Smith won the 400m dash with a time of 50.36 and also won the 200m dash with a time of 22.31.
At MIT for the women, Greer Liguori won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.99. Liguori also finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.54, setting a new personal best. Zoe Meinelschmidt had an excellent performance in the javelin, finishing first with a throw of 37.59m (123'4).

TOP PERFORMERS – MEN

- Ebruba Etta took second in the 400m dash with a time of 50.64.
- Robie Wester won the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.87.
- Freshman Sam Cook competed in the 1500m run and finished seventh with a time of 4:13.70.
- Freshman Diego De La Torre took fourth in the 5000m run with a time of 15:43.15.
- In the field, Declan Ritzenthaler had an excellent performance, winning the pole vault with a vault of 4.88 meters (16'0") to set a new personal best. 4.88m is currently the third best vault in the PL this season.
- Pablo Colon won the javelin with a throw of 52.93m (173'8").
- Robert Saligman finished third in the pole vault with a 4.55m (14'11") vault.
- Dariy Esenov finished fourth in the high jump with a 1.85m (6'0.75") effort, a new personal best.
- Greer Liguori won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.99. Liguori also finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.54, setting a new personal best.
- The 4x100 meter relay team of Jordan Coverson, Leah Fowlkes, Alicia Thomas and Cecelia Gerstenbacher finished first with a time of 47.27.
- Zoe Meinelschmidt had an excellent performance in the javelin, finishing first with a throw of 37.59m (123'4).
- Bridget Chiaravalle took second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.04.
- Jordan Coverson took second in the 100m dash with a time of 12.35, matching her personal best.
- Anna Foreman also competed in the 100m dash and finished seventh with a time of 12.87 in a field of 30.
- Emily Mantz took 10th in the 400m run with a time of 1:06.29.
- In the field, the Terriers took the top three spots in the long jump. Kennedy Jones won the event with a leap of 5.68m (18'7.75"). Ava Gruzen finished second with a new personal-best jump of 5.52 meters (18'1.50") and Arden Creson finished third with a jump of 5.51 meters (18'1"), also a personal best.

- Coco Ocker had a good showing in the 800m run, finishing second with a time of 2:14.96 in a field of 38.
- Dominique Betterbed finished seventh in the 3000m run with a time of 10:27.30, setting a new personal best.
- Stephanie Forbes competed in the 1500m run and finished 21st with a time of 4:53.05.
