
Men's Tennis to Host St. John's in Home Opener Saturday Afternoon

BOSTON – After opening the dual season with four road matches, the Boston University men's tennis team will host St. John's at the Mount Auburn Club in Watertown with doubles action slated to begin at 4 p.m.
The Terriers are slated to host three matches this season with matchups against St. Francis Brooklyn on March 22 and Buffalo on March 27. They own wins against Sacred Heart (4-3) and Merrimack (5-2) with losses to Ivy League members Yale (4-3) and Dartmouth (6-1).
Six individuals own at least one singles win since the start of 2020 with both juniors David Bogatin and Owen Lu owning identical 3-1 records. Sophomore Max Hartenstein has two wins as well.
On the doubles side, senior Marc Sable owns two wins, collecting one with junior Ethan Kolsky and another with freshman Jon-Kyle Tan.
St. John's enters the contest with an 8-2 record, highlighted by wins over Army (4-0), East Carolina (4-3), Sacred Heart (7-0) and UConn (4-0). The two losses came against Dartmouth (4-1) and then-No. 25 Arizona (5-2).
The Red Storm won the last meeting between the two schools, 6-1, in 2012 at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
