Terriers Roll to 71-56 Senior Day Win Over Navy

BOSTON – Welcome Navy to Case Gym for Senior Day, the Boston University women's basketball team ran past Navy, 71-56, for its sixth straight victory on Saturday.
Irving put up a dominant Senior Day performance, notching a team-best 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting to go with five rebounds. Katie Nelson was also efficient, following Irving with a 16-point outing, connecting on 4-of-6 attempts from 3-point range. Vanessa Edgehill also had a memorable Senior Day, adding five points, three rebounds and two assists.

Irving put up a dominant Senior Day performance, notching a team-best 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting to go with five rebounds. How It Happened
- Irving attacked the paint to open the game while Maggie Pina worked the 3-point arc to put the score at 10-10 at the halfway point in the first.
- Maren Durant kept up BU's presence in the post by finishing a look from Sydney Johnson before Pina hit her third 3-pointer of the quarter, though Navy held the scoreboard in its favor at 16-15.
- The Terriers started to click midway through the second, using a 9-2 run to pull ahead, 28-23.
- Riley Childs and Nelson combined for the final nine points of the half, guiding BU into the break with a 30-27 advantage.
- Nelson remained in the zone to open up the third quarter, connecting from beyond-the-arc to kick start a 6-0 run.
- BU and the Mids exchanged baskets until Nelson roped five straight points, giving BU a 45-33 lead with three minutes left in the frame.
- Johnson hit a corner 3-pointer before finding Irving in transition to end the third, pushing BU's command to 51-40.
- Irving started the fourth with six straight points, running the score to 57-42.
- Edgehill and Irving closed the game out in style, combining for BU's final nine points as the Terriers cruised to a 15-point win.
- The Terriers posted their highest field goal percentage (.538) of the season.
- BU has won three of its last four matchups at The Roof against Navy.
- All eight Terriers that saw the floor got on the scoreboard.
- The Terriers will remain at home as they host Lafayette on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
