Boston University director of track and field
Gabe Sanders has announced the addition of 33 recruits to the class of 2024. 14 student-athletes will join the women's team next year, while 19 will join the men's team.
Â
"It's my pleasure to announce the Boston University Cross Country and Track & Field rising class of 2024," Sanders said. "This is a testament of the hard work and due diligence of our staff and team to construct a class that embodies the direction this program wants to go in the future, and that is to become the standard of academic and athletic excellence not only in the Patriot League but the NCAA as well. This is probably the most well balanced and deepest class BU has seen across all event areas in a long time. The coaching staff did a phenomenal job expressing the vision for this program and finding those student athletes that not only fit in that vision but are excited to be a part of it. Many of these student athletes we foresee not only at the top of the podium in the Patriot League, but will also have a presence at the national level. We are headed in the right direction and these amazing young people will be leading the way. It's a great day to be a Terrier!"
MEN'S DISTANCE
"Our men's class includes both quality and depth which is important in replacing our graduating seniors," said assistant track & field coach and head cross country coach
Paul Spangler. "Both Matt Mason and
Spencer Twyman have the ability to come in and contribute to our team score immediately. There is plenty of talent in the remainder of the class that will be counted on to contribute to our team goals as they develop."
