BOSTON – Incoming Boston University men's soccer freshman Daniel Rosario has wrapped up camp with the Puerto Rico National Team and will travel with the 25-member squad to the Dominican Republic for a pair of World Cup qualifying games this week.
A member of Orlando City SC, Rosario (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) made his senior debut with Puerto Rico by starting in a friendly 1-0 win over Dominican Republic back in January. The defender previously competed with the U-17 squad during the 2019 CONCACAF U-17 Championship qualifying rounds.
"We are really excited for Danny," said BU head coach Kevin Nylen. "He's been in multiple senior team camps now and is gaining valuable experience while representing his country. We are wishing him and Puerto Rico the best during World Cup qualifying. His experiences now will only continue to help him as he progresses forward."
Puerto Rico is in Group F with St. Kitts & Nevis, Guyana, Bahamas and Trinidad & Tobago with the top team advancing to the second round. Puerto Rico will open against St. Kitts & Nevis on Wednesday (March 24) and then face Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday (March 28). There will then be an extended break with the third matchup against Bahamas set for June 2.
