Men’s Rowing Completes Saturday Events At The Head Of The Charles

BOSTON – The Boston University men's rowing team launched its 2022-23 campaign with the first day at the Head of the Charles, as DeWolfe Boathouse once again served as the starting line for the 36 total events that took place on Saturday (Oct. 22).
The Club 8 "A" boat, coxed by freshman Luke Stroh and stroked by sophomore Marino Kerler, finished the course in a time of 14:52.951 to take 10th place out of 39 finished crews.
The Club 8 "B" crew, coxed by freshman Emily Slawin and stroked by classmate Ian Doud, was seventh in the event, finishing in 14:42.826.
The Terriers had three other connections to boats on Saturday. The Alumni Eights, which featured Assistant Coach Alex Dillon, took 18th place out of 46 crews in a time of 15:48.666. In the Senior Master Eights, the BU contingent finished 21st out of 30 crews, clocking in at 16:58.328.
Rounding out the coaching staff, Assistant Coach Emily Regan took part in the Women's Master Singles, recording a time of 20:36.220 to finish seventh among 43 competitors. Back on Friday (Oct. 21), Head Coach Thomas Bohrer and BU boatman Russ Cone squared off in the Men's Grand Master Singles; Cone captured the bronze with a time of 19:05.701, followed by Bohrer in fourth place at 19:18.533.
BU closes the Head of the Charles on Sunday (Oct. 23) with one crew each in the Championship Fours at 1:07 p.m. and the Championship Eights at 1:38 p.m. Select alumni will also compete in the Director's Challenge Mixed Eights at 3:38 p.m.
