Returning for a 14th year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.
Coming in at No. 8 on this year's countdown is the women's lightweight rowing team, which had two boats medal at the IRA National Championships to lead the Terriers to a runner-up finish in the team standings.
Seniors
Kathryn Grabowski and
Grace Beery took silver in the double sculls after a gold-medal performance last year. Senior coxswain
Nora Chan teamed up with a young varsity four boat to take bronze in that race with sophomore stroke
Charlotte Duan joining classmates
Maecy Rickman and
Kieran Purandare along with freshman
Lulu Smith.
In the varsity eight race, the Terriers rebounded from a slow start to place fourth and edge Harvard-Radcliffe, which allowed the Terriers to finish ahead of the Crimson in the team standings. For the fifth time in program history, BU finished as the national runner-up at IRAs.
Earlier in the season, BU retained the Beanpot by topping both Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT on the Charles River and also earned wins in duals against the Boston College openweights and Bates. The Terriers closed the regular season with two second-place finishes at the Dad Vail Regatta.
