February 21, 2023

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Boston University women's basketball seniors Maren Durant and Maggie Pina have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.

Durant has combined strong academics with an impressive basketball career with the Terriers. On the court, she is the program's all-time leader in field goal percentage (.563) as of writing, while ranking second in career blocks (159) and sixth in career rebounds (777). In the classroom, the Behavior and Health major collected Academic All-Patriot League honors in 2022 while totaling two Patriot League Academic Honor Roll accolades. Last year, she was named a Scarlet Key recipient.

Pina has continued to excel in athletics and academics. Currently sporting career-bests this season with a .462 field goal percentage, a .405 three-point clip, and 48 assists, she ranks fifth in the Terrier annals with 180 career threes. She joined the field hockey team ahead of the Fall 2022 semester as well, winning Patriot League regular season championships with both teams. Pina has been chosen for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times as a Terrier, and recently earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
